Download the SalesMax CRM system

After installing SalesMax you will have a 30 day trial period, during which you can evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed tools. After this time, all the information previously inserted into the database, will remain available for searching and browsing, but the options to make changes and create new data will be blocked. If later on you decide to buy or rent the system, all the information from the demo version will remain fully operational.

As a rule, the intensive use of our CRM system for even one month brings a noticeable increase in sales.

CRM SalesMax linux installation

The process of installation on linux is pretty simple - you need to install the necessary packages used in our system, then download and configure the components of the system:

Installing the Necessary Components

the SalesMax system requires:
  • PostgreSQL version 8.1.4 or higher
  • Java JRE version 1.6 or higher
These components are usually available from the repositories of your distribution pack. If you don’t have these packs – please refer to the websites PostgreSQL and Java JRE developers. To install java on FreeBSD, use the appropriate instructions.

Configure the database

execute following commands in console with root rights:
su - postgres
psql -c "create user crm createdb password '123'"
psql -c "create database crm owner crm encoding 'UTF-8'"
edit file pg_hba.conf - add following line before other uncommented lines
host crm crm password
file pg_hba.conf is located in the same with other PostgreSQL configuration files (in Debian based distros it's /etc/postgresql/8.x/main). Then restart PostgreSQL database
sudo /etc/init.d/postgresql-8.x reload
if you already have a backup of previous SalesMax installation - load it using:
pg_restore -d crm [путь к файлу с архивом]
end session of postgres user

Configure the JBoss application server

Download the specially prepared JBoss application server distribution pack and unzip it into /usr/local directory
Then add the run rights to the files run.sh and shutdown.sh, located in /usr/local/jboss-4.2.0/bin directory
chmod +x /usr/local/jboss-4.2.0/bin/run.sh
chmod +x /usr/local/jboss-4.2.0/bin/shutdown.sh
There are autorun scripts in the /usr/local/jboss-4.2.0/bin directory, for example, for Red Hat there is a file jboss_init_redhat.sh, for Ubuntu — it's jboss_init_ubuntu.sh
Check these files to insure location of JBoss и Java JRE are set correctly. After that, copy the required autorun script into /etc/init.d and create a symlink to it in /etc/rc`runlevel`.d directory, to run jboss after the database PostgreSQL.

Download the latest versions of the .ear and .war files

Configure the web server port

By default the system will run on port 8080. If you want to use another port - edit the file /usr/local/jboss-4.2.0/server/default/deploy/jboss-web.deployer/server.xml using a text editor and change 8080 to the desired value.

Adjust the path to java

Edit the file /usr/local/jboss-4.2.0/bin/run.conf and specify the correct path to java - find the line beginning with
and specify the directory where java is located (for example, in ubuntu it is usually /usr/lib/jvm/java-6-sun).

Start the system

sudo /etc/init.d/jboss_[xxxx].sh start
In 1-2 minutes, depending on the system performance, the server should start and go into operation

Register the main system user

Start your browser and go to
http://[IP of your computer]:8080/salescontrol/install.jsp
and fill in the form.

Final configuration

After completing the above form, open the “Configuration” section, click on the “Settings” tab, find the postgres.bin parameter and edit it to the value indicating the correct location of the pg_dump utility (included in postgresql), usually it is located in the /usr/bin directory, use the locate pg_dump command if necessary. Without the correct settings of this parameter, the system can not automatically back up data archives.
Edit the parameters of the mail server in the bottom of the same page.
